a biathlon lifestyle

Hi, my name is Brian Halligan, and I am a biathlete.

With my lifetime of experience in biathlon, both as an athlete and coach, I can't wait to share my expertise with you and help you become the best biathlete you can be.

 Competitor

I had the privilege of representing the U.S. Biathlon Junior Team at international competitions. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to race at several Youth and Junior World Biathlon Championships and Open European Biathlon Championships, as well as participate in races throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. Although my competitive racing career ended in 2016, I cherish the memories and experiences that I gained from these events and continue to hold them close to my heart.

 Coaching Experience

After retiring from racing, I began coaching in New York and later moved into program leadership role at the ASC Training Center in Lake Tahoe, California. During this time, I worked diligently to build an elite biathlon program and am proud of the steps the program took to grow from a "home town" team to a national competitor. As Program Director I traveled the world to coach with the United States Biathlon Team on the Junior and IBU Cup circuits and was even contracted by NBC as an associate producer during the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics for biathlon coverage (for which we won an Emmy). Today I am the Junior National Team Coach for the US Biathlon Team and work with my country's future biathlon stars.

 Creative Passion

I have always been a creative person and as a result of the COVID pandemic, I began uploading biathlon coaching videos to my YouTube channel. The  "Biathlon University" series not only filled a need for biathlon specific content on the internet, but acted as my creative expression. As my content started gaining recognition globally, I fully embraced the calling. Today my channel has over 3,300 subscribers and my primary focus is on creating content that entertains, educates, and informs biathlon fans.
